I started the Shred Challenge because I said to myself, “If not now, then when?”
I had seen the photographs of past Shred winners and was inspired by their stories, their commitment and their ‘before and after’ photographs. I had to do it this time. I would commit to all aspects of the challenge and work on myself holistically. Katie’s calm, kind and encouraging approach gave me hope. Katie’s support when the going got tough was wonderful. Katie advised me how best to navigate bootcamp with an injury to the knee, adjusting the exercises. In fact I was later able to run the ‘Couch to 5kms’ through the gentle support of the running plans.
I loved the community spirit and the Facebook group kept me accountable. I exceeded my goal of loosing 5kgs and I feel so much better in myself. I have taken up new sports and met new friends through the running club. I no longer worry about how I look… I can now get out there and enjoy ‘life’ and be more present to others. It has been a most wonderful journey.
